Kalamazoo Olive Co.

As an intern architect I took on the task of designing and managing a small local project in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. The project initially presented a 1,028 ft.² retail space (formerly a Greek restaurant) which the client asked to be redesigned for the opening of a boutique olive oil store. The existing condition of the space was dark, uninviting, and outdated. I realized that the interior had to become lighter and more modern.

As lead designer for this project it was my responsibility to design the floor plan layout, coordinate with MEP consultants in renovations, and make sure that the design would accurately express the Kalamazoo Olive Co. brand. I accomplished all of these tasks on time to the client's satisfaction. I enjoyed the process around designing around the client's product, designing with a consciousness of eye-level views for display and signage placement.
